Now that we have taken D off the allergy meds he is doing much better. The teacher said yesterday he had a really good day. We will see if it continues but so far he seems to be so much better. He is tolerating H when she is screaming bloody murder now. He still tells her to stop but he does not hit her any more while telling her to stop. Progress! I really think he just must be sensitive to medication. I guess from now on before I give him anything I better read the side effects and keep a look out for them. We go back to the allergy doctor this month so I think I will just ask to see the ENT. If getting his adenoids and tonsils out will help I’m all for it. If they do take them out I am hoping we can do it the week of Thanksgiving since I plan on pulling him out of daycare that week anyway.

My little Night Owl
I went to bed last night with D in his bed watching Diego and Davey with H asleep in the living room. Davey brought H to bed and went to sleep. I was woken up around 11pm with D trying to get the remote so he could turn another Diego on. I told D to go to sleep. He laid down only to get up 10 minutes later and tell me he needed to go potty. I can’t really get mad about that one. I don’t know what time he actually finally went to sleep. He must be tired today though. I know I am.

Kids Expo
My mom and I took D and H to the Kids Expo yesterday. They had all kinds of informational booths set up with fun things to do in the area and a place for the kids to play. They had huge inflatable bouncing things that D just loved. It was hard to get him to walk around the booths so I could see what they had because he wanted to go play so bad. Well I let him get into one of the small bouncers and reached down to get my camera out all the time my mom is standing next to me holding H and I stand back up to take D’s picture and he is gone. I look at my mom and say where is he? We both start looking and neither of us can find him. I ask the lady letting kids in if he got out and she said yes he ran around to you. So I tell my mom to stay there in case he comes back and I would go look for him. I have to tell you I have never been so scared in my life. I run to where the big bouncer/slides are and finally see him on top of the firemen’s inflatable slide. Let me tell you when he got down where I could get my hands on him he got a spanking and a long talking to. The firemen standing their likely thought should we help the poor boy because I laid into him. He scared the crap out of me. So after my heart rate returned to normal and I calmed down we finished looking at all the booths and then let him go back to the play area with strict instructions on he was not to leave the bouncer I put him in with out holding my hand. When it was time to leave of course he did not want to go but I told him if he was good maybe Pappaw would get his bouncer out at home and set it up for him. So he left with out too much complaining. In the car my mom tells me you know you never told him he could not leave the bouncer and as I thought about that I felt a little bad for getting so mad. We have gone to a place that had the bouncers all over and he was free to go from one to the other because it was a closed play area that he could not get out of and no one could get in. So I guess I should have given him better instruction but I don’t think he will run off like that again. After the fun at the Kids Expo we took the kids home and they stayed with Pappaw while my mom and I went to a movie. When we got back Pappaw had set up the bouncer for the kids and they where having a blast. Below I have some pics from the Expo and them playing at home.

The Results are In
I got the letter in the mail with my blood results. Dr. Fillmore said everything looked good.
Total Cholesterol 161 (Should be Less then 200)
Triglycerides 88 (Should be Less then 150)
HDL Good Cholesterol 45 (Should be more than 50)
LDL Bad Cholesterol 98 (Should be less then 130)
Glucose (Blood Sugar) 79 (Should be 70-110)
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone 2.09 (Should be .4-4.0)
So I guess working out and eating better is paying off because my last results she said my Triglycerides where a little high.

I’m Taking D off the Allergy Meds
Well when I picked up D yesterday I had another incident report to sign. It seems he can not control himself anymore. The teacher said he would not listen to her and when she asked him to stand in line he would just run around and throw himself on the floor and scream and cry. So he had another really bad day at daycare yesterday. This morning when he woke up he wanted to watch Backyardigans so I put one on and he screamed at me that it was not the one he wanted. He normally will wine if it is not the one he wants but he has never screamed at me the way he did this morning. So I talked with Davey and we are taking him off the allergy meds. I just hope he goes back to his normal self soon.

Melt Down
I went to pick up H from daycare yesterday and her teacher was just gushing with praises saying she is such a sweet girl. She moved up to the older room about 2 weeks ago and the new teachers are in love with her. Her teacher was telling me that they have made fast friends. She said every time she sits on the floor that H will run over and sit in her lap. Her teacher said she is saying words for her. She said H said apple the other day and she is picking up the sign language they are teaching her.
Then I left to go get D from his daycare. I go in to get him and I get handed a page long incident report. Honest to goodness they ran out of room and started writing down the side of the page. So apparently D was throwing a boys shoe across the room and would not stop when the teacher told him to do so. So she told him to go sit in time out. Well this caused a full on melt down. He started screaming at her and would not go so she took his hand to make him and he tried to bite her and kick her. He ended up in the office. I had a talk with him about how we don’t hit or bite anyone especially adults. I don’t know if it helped but I would not let him play video games all night and he did not like that. Every time he would ask to play I told him no and would make him tell me why he was not getting to play. Hopefully it sank in. This morning when I dropped him off I had a talk with him again. I am hoping that today will be a better day for him. It is just amazing how different two kids can be.

Single Mom for the Week
Well Davey made it safe to Mississippi. I am glad he loves his job and gets to travel but being a single mom is so not fun. As the kids get older it does get easier but it is still very difficult. I really miss the extra pair of eyes and hands when he is traveling. D and H where really good last night for the most part but it still is a lot to keep them happy and get everything done before getting them a bath and to bed. You certainly do not have any me time even to take a shower when you are on your own.
D and H both still have drainage coming out their ears so I have been giving them the medicine for that. I think we all have gotten a cold because our noses are all runny and H and I have been coughing like crazy. Not fun. I just love when my kids share their germs with me. So far I can’t tell that the new medicine for his allergies is working. I don’t think I am seeing any side affects but he is itching a lot lately but I may be reading too much into that because of the last time. He has been on it for almost a week so I was hoping to see an improvement by now.

Bananas vs Ice Cream
Davey and I needed to run to town and buy a few groceries yesterday so we took D and H with us. At the store D said he was hungry and wanted some ice cream. So I told him we would get the ice cream before we left. So I was getting the few things we needed and I was going to get some bananas. So I ask D if he would like a banana and he says yes. So I get 4 large bananas so that I can have one in the car and one to take to work. We then go and get the ice cream that D wants and check out. When we get to the car I ask D if he wants his ice cream or a banana. He picks the banana. I don’t know any other kid that would pick a banana over ice cream. So I give him a banana and start eating one myself. He finished the banana before I get half of mine eaten and says he wants another one. Ok so I give him a second banana after all I still have one left. He finishes that banana and asks me for another one. So I tell him it is the last one and I am only giving him a little over half of it and giving H the rest. So much for my banana for work. He eats all of that and still asks for another one. I had to tell him we did not have any more and I got his standard. “Ah man.” I seriously think he would have eaten 6 or 7 large bananas if I had gotten them and let him have them. What kills me is I have gotten a bunch of bananas before and brought them home and he would not touch them. Most of them went bad. The boy is an enigma.
