Growing Up
D has been doing so well at night not peeing the bed that I have gone to putting him in underwear instead of a night time pull-up. This is a really great thing but now out night not only do I have to make sure my husband did not leave the toilet seat up but that D has not peed all over it. I cannot get that boy to raise the seat for anything. So now we will save money on night time pull-ups but I will have to deal with 2 guys not listening to me. Oh well thus is life right. LOL
As for H she is Ms. Independent lately. This morning she would not let me touch her clothes. She grabbed them out of my hand and said “I do it”. Which ended up taking her forever. If only she would be that determined to use the potty we would be set.

TOT preformance
We had a great weekend. D had his TOT performance on Saturday and he did an awesome job. Davey’s mom, dad, and sister where all able to make it so he had lots of people to cheer him on. He never got scared or said he did not want to do it. I have video and pics for everyone to see but they did not space the kids out well so he is behind his friend C a lot. You can still see him most of the time. It was lots of fun and the UMHB girls were really good. Davey and I talked about going back to watch them. After all I’m an alum I should cheer and support them more.
It was so funny after D’s performance he came out and saw a leaf on the floor. He had to stop and pick it up and keep everyone from stepping on it. It was so funny. I have never seen a kid how gets so excited about leaves.
Grandma Nita as D calls Davey’s mom was able to spend the weekend with us so the kids had a blast. They captured her in their rooms and did not want to let her out.
So it turned out to be a good time but the weekend went way too fast. Thanks Mammaw, Pappaw, Cowpa, Grandma Nita, and Aunt Candace for coming out and spending the day with us.
Pics and Video to come soon.

D’s 5
We had D’s birthday party January 9th. The fun thing was we lost power the night before at 7:30pm and did not get it back until almost 1pm the next day. I was so mad. Not to mention it was the coldest night of the year. It was 19 outside and below 50 inside. It will be a party we will not soon forget. We had to cook all the food in crock pots at my Grandma’s house then bring it back. It was an interesting day to say the least. D had a great time anyway and loved all the gifts he received. Thank you all for coming and the wonderful gifts!
D had his 5 year check up on the 15th. He was 46 inches almost 4 foot tall and 51lbs. He is 97% in height and 90% in weight. He talked Dr. Riser’s ears off. She said he was doing great and that she did not think his eyes where anything to worry about. So I will hold off and take him to the optometrist before he starts kindergarten. The way he loses things at daycare I don’t want to even think about him trying to keep up with glasses if he needs them.
This weekend D has his TOT performance at UMHB. I can’t tell if he is excited or not. I think he is more excited that grandparents are coming. He thinks he is going to get gifts. The boy is spoiled beyond belief. Hopefully everything will go smoothly this weekend.

D had a good Birthday!
D had a great birthday. We gave him Spike the Dinosaur and he loved it. I made sloppy joes and fries and that was a hit but yet again he did not like my dessert. I tried brownies since he would not eat my cupcakes and he did not like them either. I’m going to try some cookies that I have a mix for. Maybe that will win him over. Never know with him.
Poor H was still in a rotten mood. She was not happy that it was not her birthday. I gave her a small gift so she would have something and she kept saying it’s my birthday present. I just let it go. When she is older hopefully she will understand better. After all she just had Christmas where everyone got gifts so this is a little hard for her to understand.

Happy Birthday D! 5 years old today!
D turned 5 today! I can’t believe my baby is 5 years old. Next year he starts school. Where does the time go? So for his birthday I made a ton of cupcakes to take to his daycare. I made around 40 chocolate and 40 vanilla. I hope that will be enough for his class and the other class that is in the same room. He however, informed me last night that he did not like the cupcakes. He would not even try one. He did tell me he would eat one with his friends at school so here is hoping. So tonight I am going to make brownies for him since cake does not seem to be something he wants right now.
While trying to get a crap load of cupcakes made last night I had to deal with H being a nightmare. She was so clingy and crying over everything it was not funny. Every time D would say it was his birthday she would cry because she wanted it to be her birthday. So she would say it was her birthday and D would tell her no it is his birthday and she would throw a fit. She was not happy that D was getting a party at school with his friends. I kept telling her in July it would be her birthday but she did not care. So it should be interesting tonight to see how she does when we give D his gift and sing Happy Birthday to him.
We are having D’s birthday party Saturday with all our family. We will be having D’s favorite dish rice and beans along with other Mexican food for everyone else. D is always happy with just rice and beans. I have to say he gets that from me because that is what I always order and what I ordered all the time when I was pregnant with both kids. I hope it warms up a little for his birthday because right now it is downright cold. Too bad we did not get a bad weather day today then we could have stayed home by the fire and celebrated his birthday all day.

Where did the time go?
Where did the time go? I can’t believe it is 2010 already. Another year gone way to quick. So here is an update on how we all have been.
We had our family Christmas brunch the week before Christmas then took a trip to see Davey’s Mom and family in B. We had a great time and the kids loved seeing all the deer and turkeys there. Thanks guys for letting us come and all the wonderful Christmas gifts.
Christmas eve we did our annual light looking and out to eat trip. D slept most of the time and H was a bear because she was tired so we did not get to really look all that much. When we got home the kids opened their stockings. Then since I had not yet gotten D and H’s hand/foot print Christmas squares done for the quilts I plan to make I made them do that. They were none too happy about it and I was thinking what a pain in the butt this is. However; they turned out cute and one day when I have all the years done in a quilt I am sure all the hassle will be worth it. D did not go to sleep until nearly 1am. I kept telling him if he did not go to sleep Santa would never come. Even though he went to bed late he still was the first one up.
Christmas day was wonderful. Both D and H are now old enough that they love opening the gifts and are so much fun to watch. After we opened gifts at home we went to my Mom and Dad’s and ate breakfast and did gifts with them. Then we came home and finished getting ready for the late lunch. My brother and his family, my parents, and Cowpa all were able to come. We had a really great time. Thanks everyone for coming and all the wonderful gifts!
By Christmas night I was so tired I went to bed at 8pm. I know I am getting old. In my defense I had very little sleep the days before. The day after Christmas my mom and I went to hit all the sales again. Thanks to all the grandparents for giving us the money to buy the kids clothes! With the Christmas money I was able to get lots of jeans for H which she really needed, some great shirts, a few dresses, and some Christmas shirts for next year. I got D lots of shirts, a few more jeans, and shorts. I can’t believe how big he has gotten we now have to go to the boys section since he is in 7 jeans and 7/8 shirts. Yet I still pay less for his clothes then H. Why do girl clothes have to be so expensive? I also was able to get Davey a few pair of new dress pants and a belt as well as one outfit for myself. I wanted to spend the majority of the money on the kids since they are the ones who really need it and go through their clothes like water. I will be glad when they stop growing so fast and don’t tear up their clothes as soon as I put them on them.
New Year’s Day we ate dinner with my parents. D did not want to eat and Davey and I kept telling him he could not have ice cream if he did not eat. So he would eat a little and say he was done. After doing this for a while I told him fine he could get down but he was not getting ice cream. So he looks at me says ok then looks at my mom and winks at her. Can you believe that? The little turkey winked at her! Davey started laughing hysterically and I was trying hard not to. I don’t know where he picked that up from. I guess who ever taught him did not tell him the person you are trying to deceive you should hide the wink from. He is such a little stinker. I do have to say though it was funny.
After all the holidays I was able to get all the decorations down and back up in the attic. It took me longer to get everything put away then putting it out. We almost have the house back to normal which is a good thing since D’s birthday is the 7th and we are having his party the 9th. I still can’t believe my baby is going to be 5! Time has just flown by.
I hope everyone is having a great New Year! Here’s hoping this year goes a little slower. Somehow I doubt it will be but let’s hope we can all take the time to enjoy every fast minute of it!
